En el capitulo de hoy de RAW vimos otro lamentable capitulo de Divas. Al parecer a WWE solo le gusta mostrar un par de minutos a las Divas.
Esta noche vimos una revancha de lo que fue Wrestlemania XXVI. Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, Gail Kim, Beth & Mickie James contra Vickie Guerrero, Alicia Fox, Maryse, Michelle McCool y Layla. Empezó Eve contra Maryse. La rubia canadiense se acercó a las cuerdas y agitó su cabello (como suele hacerlo), y Eve aprovecha el momento, la agarra de las piernas y 1, 2, 3. Ganó Eve Torres en un par de segundos.

En el PPV más importante de la lucha libre, Wrestlemania XXVI, estuvieron nuestras divas. 10 divas en acción estuvieron en la lucha anterior al main event (Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker). El primero equipo era conformado por las campeonas Michelle McCool y Maryse, junto a Layla, Alicia Fox y Vickie Guerrero. El otro por, Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Gail Kim y Beth Pheonix.
Primero partió Kelly contra Vickie. Luego, cada diva tuvo la oportunidad de demostrar sus movimientos, hasta que finalmente quedó Kelly Kelly arrojada en el piso luego que Michelle McCool le aplicara uno de sus movimientos finales (Faith Breaker). Luego, Vickie Guerrero se sube al esquinero y se lanza contra Kelly para ganarle.

En una entrevista con Alex Marvez, la ahora cantante, Maria, habló sobre su pasado en WWE.

Perdía todo el tiempo. No fui bendecida con grandes habilidades de lucha. Trabajaba por fuera para mejorar, pero algunas personas se ven bien luchando, otras parecen arañas en el ring. Yo era una araña con sólo 7 piernas y una colgando. Ví algunas de mis luchas y decía "Oh, querida". Creo que la gente sentía pena por mi y pensaba "Conozco a esa chica" o "Yo soy esa chica".

¿Será esta una de las razones por las que fue despedida de WWE? ¿Aun así, siendo la Diva del Año 2009?

Mickie James fuera de Wrestlemania

Cuando ya quedan solo 10 días para el evento más importante de WWE, Wrestlemania XXVI, la diva y ex-campena, Mickie James, quedará fuera de este evento. Pese que hace algunos días anunciaba vía Twitter, lo emocionada que estaba por ir al show, ahora todo se vino abajo. Todo debido a una grave infección que tiene en la pierna, la cual la mantiene en reposo durante estos días. Tan grave fue la infección que hasta los médicos de Mickie dijieron que pudo haber perdido la pierna si no la trataba a tiempo. Todo esto ocurrió en su tour por México. Ya todos los fans mandan sus mensajes de apoyo a través de su Twitter.

Pero esto no es todo, el disco debut de Mickie James, "Strangers & Angels" , iba a ser lanzado oficialmente la próxima semana, pero ahora ha sido aplazado hasta el mes de Mayo.

WWE Diva Mickie James debut album, Strangers & Angels was supposed to be released on March 23rd, but it's been bumped back to mid May.
Why?
Mickie has been in pretty rough shape physically lately and I really didn't realize how close we came to losing her until I read her blog.

Strangely enough, she says in the blog that " My main focus now, as it should be, is to get myself 150% for Wrestlemania first and foremost... Wrestlemania is the grandest stage of them all for anyone who's ever stepped in the squared circle.. who’s dreamed of stepping out that curtain knows that Wrestlemania is the end all be all."

So there is a womans match for Wrestlemania?
I haven't seen any indication of one yet.....
Maybe it will be a last minute addition.

As you know, Traci Brooks (along with Roxxi) was recently released from the TNA roster.
But I have heard a rumor that she may be involved with another TNA, this time, T&A.

On her blog at PWMania, April Hunter teased that she may be reforming the tag team T&A with Traci.
Now to a whole lotta people...THAT would be a dream team!

The first T&A tag team was formed by April and Talia Madison (Velvet Sky) back in 2006.

But I checked the TNA Roster page this AM...and I saw no listing for Awesome Kong.

Wrestlicious Review

I watched the premiere episode of the all female wrestling promotion Wrestlicious last night.

My thoughts......

Okay, without commercials, the show is about 20 minutes.
The first almost five minutes were taken up with the "GLOW style" rap.
I realize this is the pilot, so maybe that won't be the norm, maybe it was just to get you introduced to the characters.
If you notice, most TV shows today have very short intros, or none at all.
I would suggest a much shorter intro.

Then we had a bad GLOW/Hee-Haw type sketch.
Then more dancing and singing with Kandi Kisses (Lizzy Valentine).
I never thought I would say this...but where's Jillian Hall when you need her?
At least she gets interrupted and stopped.
Well they did stop the singing.....

Then we had a swimsuit shoot with Autumn Frost (Jennifer Blake).

Then finally at about the 10:00 mark, we had the first match which was Toni the Top ( Nikki the New York Knockout) versus "Maui".
Is it my imagination or is their ring smaller than regulation?
Or is it the thick pink ropes that make it look that way?
Barbie's Malibu Dream Ring?

Anyway the match was less than two minutes long.
I wont complain about how short the WWE Diva matches are anymore.

Then a sketch.
Then another sketch.

I have to point out here I like Bandita.
Maybe it's because she reminds me of Spanish Red.

Then finally about 12 minutes in, we have the six woman tag team event with Maria Toro (Mercedes Martinez), Bandita, and Felony (Rain) versus Tyler Texas (Lorelei Lee), Cousin Cassie, and Charlotte (Amber O'Neal).
It started out with a lot of over selling and not very impressive wrestling moves.
I think that even though Bandita is a model she might have that "something" that could be trained into a watchable performer in the ring.

BUT, when Felony (Rain) and Tyler Texas ( Lorelei Lee) got into the ring, as JR would say, business picked up.
They proved that even with the silly Halloween costumes and senses assaulting ring, their wrestling skills still showed through.
Now we have our first decent length match.
Classic old school heel ending, and my interest started to pick up just as they went off the air.

I know this is just the first episode, but this needs to be over-hauled big time to be successful.

First I would cut way down on the sketches and singing/dancing.
GLOW had the GLOW Rap, but it only lasted a few seconds (not minutes) before each match.

Two, if you have to have costumes...fine.
Just take them off before the match.
Wrestlicious could easily bring back the sexy one piece wrestling outfit.
Cut right, the suits could be very flattering on these women, without going too far.
Again I go back to Spanish Red.
Remember how hot she looked in a one piece and wrestling boots?
Okay, now I sound like a fashion critic.

Three, fix the ring.
If you want pink ropes, that's cool, but make them regulation ropes so it doesn't look like a Foxy Boxy ring from the 80s.

Four, back to the characters...
In the beginning of women's wrestling, we had women that could wrestle, but weren't that hot.
Then we got hot women that usually couldn't wrestle.
But we are in the 21st century now.
We can have women that are hot, and can wrestle.
You can have the outrageous characters outside the ring, just have them become all business when they get in the ring.

Like I said, I know this is the premier episode and they are getting things fine tuned.
I'll give em that.
Heck, I didn't like the first three episodes of Josh Wedon's Dollhouse, but it got better.

But I keep thinking, instead of creating this, why didn't JV Rich just take his money and back a SHIMMER syndicated wrestling show?

Hola chicos. La webmiss Beth y yo somos de Chile. Nuestras familias están bien. Mi familia está bien, sin heridos. Fue un susto que ni se imaginan, viví 8 grados del terremoto donde yo vivo. Mucho más que Haití. Aun estamos asustamos por las replicas de 4 grados que ocurren cada 1 hora. Mi casa está trizada por completo, ahora tengo agua y luz, y hace un rato que tengo internet. Por eso quería comunicarles que el blog dejará de funcionar durante un tiempo, por razones obvias, que creo no tengo que explicar. Les pido a todos que rezen por la gente que quedó sin casa debido al derrumbe, o por la gente que el mar se les llevó el agua.

Wrestlicious Premiers March 1st, 2010

I did my first entry on Wrestlicious back in March of last year, and after a lot of trials, tribulations, second guessing and anticipation....the all female wrestling show, Wrestlicious Takedown, begins airing on March 1st, 2010.
Yes Wrestlicious will finally be on the air.
Although (after all this time you KNOW there had to be an although) it seems neither Bright House or Dish Network are listing Wrestlicious in the 11PM ET time slot on Monday March 1st.
In the famous words of The Hurricane..."What's up with that?"

Originally I had heard that MavTV would air its shows in the United States, and the wrestling promotion would air on Bite TV in Canada.
I had also heard that Wrestlicious TakeDown would be syndicated nationally via America One. (http://americaone.com).

But, according to 411 mania.com, MavTV has confirmed the "Takedown" series will air at 11PM ET.

I've been waiting for this for almost a year now....I hope everything falls into place.

Maria deja WWE

Definitivamente Maria quedó fuera de WWE. (OH NO!). Una de la divas favoritas de Smackdown acaba de aunciar que se va de WWE. Al parecer sus proyectos musicales y su apareción en un reallity dejaron a la pelirroja sin tiempo.

En el tiempo que estuvo Maria en WWE jamás fue campeona, y perdió muchas más luchas de las que ganó. Básicamente, su rol era ser vinculada sentimentalmente con otros luchadores. Por eso creemos que WWE decidió dejarla ir para dedicarse a sus proyectos paralelos..

Esto fue lo que puso en su Twitter.

Está bien, chicos, vamos a hablar. No pedí irme. Me echaron. Seguiré pateando traseros en otras áreas. Estoy muy emocionada por mi futuro. Pero estoy triste porque nunca estuve un título de campeona. Smackdown Resutls

Esta noche en Smackdown vimos una lucha titular por el Women's Champion (título femenino). La campena, Mickie James, se enfrentó a Michelle McCool. Esta lucha fue programa por Vickie Guerrero, quién también fue árbitro en esta lucha, por lo que suponíamos de un principio que las cosas irían mal para Mickie.

La lucha estuvo bastante pareja, esta el momento final donde Mickie James logra derritar a Michelle McCool. De esta forma la cubre, pero la árbitro Vickie no la toma en cuenta y por el contrario, la golpea. Así Michelle aprovecha la oportunidad y cubre a la campeona.

De esta forma, Michelle McCool es la nueva campeona femenina.

Por favor, nótese en el minuto 6:17 cuando Vickie se cae. LOL !

En el pasado Smackdown, vimos una lucha entre The Great Khali, Matt Hardy y la diva Maria contra The Hart Dynasty, incluida Natalya. Esa noche Maria fue humillada ante la poderosa Natalya y así perdió el match.
Pues, esta noche en Superstars, vimos los mismos equipos luchando.

La lucha comenzó con Matt Hardy contra Tyson Kidd, luego entra The Great Khali para luchar contra David Smith. En un momento, Natalya obtiene el revelo y golpea a The Great Khali, pero se dirige corriendo a atacar a Maria.
La pobre Maria se defiende y muestra unas técnicas de lucha sque jamás habíamos visto en ella (muy bien!).

Luego, Matt Hardy contra Tyson Kidd, pero entra Natalya y ataca a Matt. En ese instante Maria entra a defender a Matt. Finalmente, Tyson derrota a Matt y The Hart Dynasty obtiene la victoria (nuevamente).
